Ghostly pine trees soar over the silky white sand dunes on the Gulf Coast. These haunting guardians keep a watchful eye over my home, only uttering a hushed whisper when the sea breeze ruffles their needles. The trees are gnarled by the constant weather, causing their limbs to grow at impossible angles and eventually snapping the lower skirts leaving lollipop-like silhouettes. When the fog rolls in, they float over the blurred landscape, waif-like yet reassuringly sturdy.

As a nature artist, drawing these coastal pines is a sort of meditation, and the result is artwork that’s a peaceful respite for both your eyes and your mind.
