Collage of Curiosities No. 11
'The Natural Daydreams collection is inspired, as much of my work is, by the mysteriously beautiful spirit of nature. What I’ve come to realize is that I’m intrigued as to how we, historically and contemporarily, pull nature into many aspects of our lives. In this iteration of my Collage of Curiosities series, I’m showing a few influences that visually inspired my paintings from moody woodlands to Baroque ornamentation. I’ve woven all of these elements together to create my own visual language.

Hole at the wood’s edge. These formations always remind me of a Grimm’s fairytale or like I’m going to happen upon an ancient altar.
Wild Lyreleaf sage foraged from my yard used as reference for the heron painting. All the flora in the herons painting were painted from life.
