Spring Inspirations
The changing of the seasons makes me weak at the knees.
The world seems to sing anew and offers up new gems to uncover. Just like wildflowers I gather inspiration in many forms for each collection of paintings. I flip through books, forage in our woods, pin up fabric scraps, and sketch any manner of elements I might include or that add to the spirit of my idea. From these I glean the color palettes and different narratives that show up in every painting I create.
A LIGHT exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period-
When March is scarcely here
A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That silence cannot overtake,
But human nature feels.
Emily Dickinson
