Collage of Curiosities No. 10

Things are warming up around here. Sweaters are still on, but coats hang are tossed aside with increasing frequency. Tiny buds are appearing on branches and I’m checking daily for buds on the fruit trees. While I’m in the studio most week days, the siren sun beckons me outside and I’m often unable to resist walking around the property or doing a little digging in the yard.

I’ve put in a small pond near our pig pen and have plans for a potager style orchard surrounding it. The apples and pears are in but their companions have yet to arrive. Pictures will come, I promise.

This time of year it’s tough for me to balance being an artist (with a business) and being a gardener. If you don’t recall, it was around this time last year I finished my Permaculture Design Certification. You can read about that in detail here. I do try to give my self some slack however as in no time it will be 85 degrees here with epic humidity and most outdoor activities slow until late September unless they’re water related.

All that said, based on the amount of artwork I’ve created this month, it’s clear that the late winter gives me some major energy. There’ve been many paintings completed and new branding in the works. Scroll to read a little bit more about what I’ve been up to.
